THE ROLE
We’re looking for Project Manager to join our Strategic Delivery team at JD Sports Head Office. This is a great opportunity for someone with a history delivering projects cross functionally and independently, specifically in retail. You have a strong understanding of building a project plan, reviewing risk, stakeholder management, status reports, and dependency mapping.
As a Project Manager, you’ll play a role in key upcoming transformation projects for the business, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of strategic and operational initiatives. This includes leading cross-functional projects spanning digital, stores, supply chain, merchandising, finance, and technology to ensure delivery is achieved on time, within budget, and aligned to business outcomes.
This role will drive structured governance, stakeholder alignment, and benefits realisation while minimising risk and disruption to the trading operations.
Reporting into the Strategy Delivery Manager, this role is responsible for but not limited to:
Lead full project lifecycle delivery including discovery, design, build, test, implementation and hyper care
Management of scope, schedule, budget and overseeing vendor and system delivery
Build and maintain strong partnerships with senior leaders across Retail Operations, Digital, Supply Chain, Finance, HR and IT to drive aligned, high-impact business outcomes
Facilitate relevant steering committees and executive level reporting including regular status updates
Establish project governance frameworks, managing risk registers and escalation pathways
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
Demonstrated Project Management experience (4+ years), with a strong track record delivering initiatives in Retail settings
Pragmatic, commercially minded and driven, with the ability to operate at pace
Enhanced communication and negotiation skills for effective engagement with stakeholders
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
Sound judgement and discretion when managing sensitive and confidential matters
PRINCE2 / PMP / Agile / Scrum certification (desirable)
Change Management certification (Prosci / ADKAR) advantageous
