THE ROLE
We’re on the lookout for a Systems Operations Team Lead to help drive performance, efficiency, and innovation within our automated Distribution Centre.
This key operational role supports the Systems Operations Manager in maximising the performance of critical warehouse systems, ensuring seamless integration and reliability across all functions. You’ll play an integral role in optimising processes, resolving system issues, and delivering insights that enhance productivity across the DC.
As part of the Systems Operations team, you’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and system partners to ensure our automation and data-driven operations continue to evolve and improve.
Reporting into the Systems Operations Manager, this role is responsible for but not limited to:
- Supporting workflows across key systems – WMS, Swisslog’s SynQ, and JD Sports ERP
- Proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system errors and inefficiencies
- Collaborating with floor teams to streamline processes and address inventory discrepancies
- Using automation expertise to improve operational processes and drive system-based enhancements
- Assisting with root cause analysis and developing corrective actions to minimise disruption
- Monitoring planning schedules and trends to support operational priorities
- Partnering with DC Management, IT, and Project teams to align systems with business objectives
Providing regular performance reporting and insights in collaboration with Swisslog
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Relevant tertiary education qualifications preferred, but not essential
- Experience in Warehouse Automation, preferably Autostore
- Knowledge and understanding of logistics processes in retail/fashion industry
- Experience in applying Lean methodology to drive efficiency
- Experience leading warehousing transformation projects
- Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion
- Commercial and financial acumen
- Proven people skills with the ability to optimise direct or indirect team performance and development
